granta: literatura para hoy

Yo y mi cara b. somos muy de clásicos (mujeres de costumbres, bla bla bla...). Somos cretinas, necias y antiguas, pero de vez en cuando nos pintamos de modernas y buscamos hoy algo que nos sirva para mañana.

Granta es una fantástica publicación (in english, aunque tambien nos han deleitado con algunos títulos en la lengua de Cervantes) sobre literatura actual, muy enfocada a la literatura realista (esa que escuece por cercana) y sobre todo americana (ya se sabe, de Carver en adelante) e inglesa.

Algunos de sus números son auténticas joyas por su fina selección, con lo difícil que es hacer antología de letras que estan apareciendo en tiempo presente. Dirty Realism, Music, More Dirt, el Granta 74, Crime y Shrinks son algunos de los más atractivos; aunque para gustos colores, claro.

Es de esas revistas que sí puedes consultar para buscar algo nuevo que devorar, sopas de letras en formato papel para dejarse llevar y saber qué, aún hoy, hay a quienes les queda mucho por decir.

'Did I ever tell you I once had a monkey?' Edna said, setting my drink on the dashboard where I could reach it when I was ready. Her spirits were already picked up. She was like that, up one minute and down the next.
